Set it up the way your clinic asked
Clinics differ on timing. Some ask for readings 1 hour after a meal, others 2 hours. Choose 1 hour or 2 hours in the settings and the column names change to match. If you were asked for an extra check, for example before bed, add a column.
How to fill it in
- Fasting: test when you wake up, before you eat or drink anything except water.
- After meals: test 1 or 2 hours after you start eating, as your clinic asked, and write the reading in the matching column.
- What you ate: a few words for each meal and snack. This is what your midwife or diabetes team will look at alongside your numbers.
- Notes: illness, a poor night's sleep, a walk after dinner, or anything else that might explain a reading.
Bring it to every appointment
Your diabetes team will usually want to see your readings at each visit. Print a few weeks at a time, keep the pages together, and bring them along. If you are prescribed tablets or insulin, add a column for your dose so everything stays on one page.
Not medical advice. This log is a place to write down your numbers. Your target range, testing times and doses come from your doctor, diabetes nurse or clinic.
Questions
Should I test 1 or 2 hours after meals?
Use the timing your clinic gave you. Switch between 1 hour and 2 hours in the settings before printing.
Can I add a column for insulin or tablets?
Yes. Use + Add time to add a column and name it, or turn on Insulin dose in the same box to write your dose next to each reading.
How many weeks should I print?
Print a few weeks at a time so you always have pages ready. You can choose anything from 2 weeks to a year.
Does it work in mg/dL?
Yes. Choose mg/dL or mmol/L to match your meter.
Is my information stored anywhere?
No. The log is built in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
